Procedure: Closed (scarless) structural rhinoplasty with auricular graft
Goal: Define nasal tip and improve facial balance in a patient with thick skin by reinforcing tip support and creating a more harmonious profile.
This female patient presented with thick skin and a poorly defined nasal tip, (bulbous nasal tip) making projection and refinement particularly challenging. A closed (endonasal) rhinoplasty was performed using Dr. Paulo A. Escobar’s Combined Auricular cartilage graft, which allowed reinforcement of the nasal framework and better tip definition.
By strengthening the underlying support and carefully sculpting the tip, the nose achieved greater definition, projection, and refinement, despite the limitations of this case of thick skin rhinoplasty. The procedure also harmonized the nasal profile with the rest of the face, achieving a natural and balanced aesthetic outcome.
